Lauren Hansen - 2024 LET Scholar

We welcome Lauren Hansen from Penley Estate as a 2024 Len Evans Tutorial Scholar. Never sitting still and doing things "the way they've always been done", Lauren is a natural collaborator with an inquistive mind.

Vintages in Bordeaux, New Zealand, and Austria, as well as working with super-premium producers Balnaves, Brokenwood, and Bannockburn, her resume smacks of quality.

Graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2012, as the Dux of Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology, Lauren has learnt the subtleties and nuances of climate and soil alike as part of her journey to becoming one of Australia's emerging and qualified winemakers.

After many years of looking on with curiosity and honing her skills as a wine show judge, Lauren is incredibly excited about the opportunity to taste alongside tutors and fellow scholars, challenge her thoughts on wine, and fine-tune the way she communicates her thoughts.
